Decaying: Red Carpet Premiere on 13 December
The Advanced troupes have spent three terms creating an original short film.
This project was actor-driven:
In Term 2: Actors were interviewed, and the storyline was stitched together using snippets from their answers to a single question… because honestly, who needs a script when you’ve got pre-teens with wild imaginations and truly unexpected one-liners?
Term 3: Puppets were designed and handmade, each one packed with the actors’ personality (and a surprising amount of felt).
Terms 3 & 4: Sets were built, and actors split into crews: filming, behind-the-scenes, puppeteers, and makers. We’re still asking ourselves why we didn’t think of unleashing kids with cameras and boom mics years ago as their behind-the-scenes footage has had us absolutely crying with laughter.
Then, came the anticipated, final part for actors: “QUIET ON SET!” & “ACTION!”
Once their raw material was captured, Drew Heriot (Full Spectrum co-founder) wove their work into the final short film and behind-the-seams documentary, which will premiere on 13 December at Readings Cinema in Sunbury.
✨ World Premiere✨
The 300-seat cinema sold out fast (before we even told the wider world… whoops), so if you’d like in on this red-carpet event, we highly recommend joining the waitlist.
Dress code? Red-carpet finest, obviously.
We can’t wait to share this film with you. We promise it’ll have you in stitches…
